Between the Pipes

A foray in goaltending, athletics and development

Congratulations to Abbie and the Eastern Shore Pee Wee Girls Team!!

I haven't been as diligent as I wanted to be at the beginning of the season and my accolades to Upper Echelon's tenders and their accomplishments has been a little lax.  And now, they have really piled up and I have a stack of congrats and pats to dish out to our hardworking puckstoppers.

Today, I'm going to highlight a double-thumbs up to Abbigail Rennie-Munroe who backstopped her girls' team at the Christmas with Hawks Tournament in December.  She only gave up seven goals the whole tournament of six games and offered up a CLUTCH 1-0 victory in overtime for the gold medal game.

Abbie has always been a diligent goaltender who has worked on her form and technique with me for three plus years.  On top of that, she has started to stretch in length, but that hasn't slowed her down in terms of speed or sloppy technique.  Rather than just rely on her size, she moves into position with precision and control, making her a veritable brick wall.  Way to go, Abbie!!
