Between the Pipes

A foray in goaltending, athletics and development

Pats and Congrats to Cole Harbour's PW AAA Goalie, Max W., for Winning Joe Shootout

I'm happy to see that the hits just keep coming for Cole Harbour and Upper Echelon goalies at the Joe Lamontagne tournament.  Another solid effort from Max "Maximum Damage" Walford in the PW AAA category where he won a hotly contested battle with TASA's elite shooters and rival goalie Dakota.

Max is one of those goalies that has all the tools to play at the high-rep level and he uses his long experience to out-wait and challenge shooters into the first and second move, before exploding across in controlled slides.  Max is also not adverse to getting "dirty" with head slides and pokechecks to keep the opposition on their toes.

This is my fourth year (time flies) working with Max.  He has great potential and it is within his grasp if he is willing to make sacrifice.  Earlier this year, Max went on a four game scoreless streak that has rivalled some of the greatest accomplishments I have seen in minor hockey goaltending.  Great job, Max!
