Pats and Congrats: Cole Harbour Wings Midget B at Kyle Henneberry Memorial Tournament
The holidays were a good time for many teams in Cole Harbour and Dartmouth. The Cole Harbour Wings Midget B team was no exception. They crossed over the bridge to face some strong local competition at the Kyle Henneberry Memorial Tournament hosted by the Chebucton Minor Hockey Association.
The Wings ran into some stiff competition in the round robin from the Midget B team from Halifax (another Upper Echelon client), but they persevered to make it to the finals.
In the finals they faced a strong TASA Ducks squad but the Wings goalies were able to manage a shutout and come away champions with a 5-0 victory.
The Wings Midget B goalie tandem is manned by Michael Pelley and Benjamin Poulin. Their training is overseen by both myself and one of Cole Harbours major assets, goalie-coach Steve Sawlor. Mike has been a long time competitive goaltender who I have known and worked with for several years. He is providing much needed leadership and clutch goaltending for his young team. Benjamin Poulin is a newcomer to competitive rep hockey, but he has made some tremendous strides in a short period of time. I've been amazed at how quickly he is picking up the core skills and with his long frame and agility, he has the makings of a solid goaltender with some hard work.
All the best to the staff and kids of the Midget B Wings!! Great work!!
