Pats and Congrats: Max Walford of the CHBA Bantam AA Wings
This is a just a shout-out to dandy young goaltender from Cole Harbour who had an outstanding performance at the famous Royal Canadian Legion Cup in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Max Walford was voted to the second all-star team and got to take home some nice hardware.
His Wings played in a very tough division, but Max was able to squeeze out two wins with a 2.0 GAA.
I have been working with Max since his first year atom and he has great potential and athletic ability. As he gets years under his belt, his maturity is really starting to drive his work ethic and this has resulted in some major advancements in his skill. It is a terrific thing to see.
Max (1st year bantam) is teamed up this year again with his goalie partner and great friend, Landon Campbell (2nd year bantam). They have both pushed and supported each other in what has been a tough season for the Wings' Bantam AA team. I can't say enough about having a good working relationship with your goalie partner. The position of tender is hard and lonely as it is, but to be isolated from your partner can make things downright miserable.
Way to go, Max!!
