Between the Pipes

A foray in goaltending, athletics and development

Pats and Congrats for Cole Harbour Atom AAA for playing big at Western Valley Tournament

I know this tournament update is more than a little dated and everyone involved in the Cole Harbour Bel Ayr Atom AAA program has my apologies.  November was a very busy month.

No more excuses.

I'd like to give a thumbs up on a team from a small association that is starting to put together a cinderella season against giant organizations like TASA, Halifax, and Bedford.  It starts with the great and dedicated coaching staff that kept the whole team pulling the rope in the same direction.  It ends, of course, with two great local backstoppers, Will and Ryan.  I hate to use the term overachieving, because it denotes setting a low bar of expectations, but this team is showing that hard-working and dedicated players and goalies can win out against Goliaths.

The Atom AAA Wings took the gold at the Western Valley Mark MacFarlane Memorial tournament in Middleton, NS in mid-November! The team went undefeated in five games en route to victory!  Ryan and Will continue to deliver performances that give their team a strong chance to win any game against any team in the Atlantic Canada region.  Both Will and Ryan, whom I have worked with for the last couple of years, are expected to carry the workload for their team in a long post-season.  Keep that laser-like focus, boys!
